Bass are shallow in flooded grass and green trees and feeding on small bluegill. Look for points with steep drop and flooded grass or green trees and fish parallel.
Fished for about 2 hours, got 4 on a hot frog chug bug, 2 on buzz bait and one on spinnerbait, up to 4 lbs. Lake is about 5' high.
Fish Tight,
John

Catfishing should be good in the flooded grass as well.

Went out late yesterday evening. Launched at Turkey Cove. Just FYI... boat ramps going under water and docks not usable.

Ran up the lake and fished a few main lake points. I was on the water less than two hours. Got the big nada. Lots of flooded cover. Had several gar after my lures but that was about it.

If you are going out to fish on Canyon, you better go early. Looks like the boat ramps are all full pretty early in the day. As I was recovering my boat, noted lots of stupidity at the boat ramp. Next weekend will be the time to setup at the ramp with a lawn chair and a GoPro camera and just watch the fun happen. After what I observed yesterday evening, I will be avoiding the lake next weekend.

I'm almost 70 and have witnessed that same stupidity all the way back to when I first started fishing out of my own boat way back in the late sixties.
Believe me when I say it's all about genetics.

Do you think that they will release enough to open up the lower elevation boat ramps. I saw Potter Creek (Public) was closed this weekend and Mystic Shores was ramp only. The courtesy dock gangplank was under water. The few open ramps will be super crowded if the ramps are shutdown for high water........I sit over on Lakeshores and watch Potter Creek (Public).....Too Funny!
