found out i had some water in my lower unit today when i went to change fluid:( Did a pressure test and found its the shift shaft bushing that appears to be not sealed so well. Wondering if anyone can recommend a mechanic in the DFW or Rockwall area... The motor is a 1989 Mercury Black Max 200hp.

Any advice would we much appreciated!

Thanks Lakeman! Does he have a shop? What's his contact info?
