The Ray Hubbard Bass Cub will be having our fourth tournament of the year Saturday May 14th on Lake Bonham. Here is the information - When: Saturday May 14th Where: Lake Bonham - South Ramp - $10.00 Yearly Boat Permit Fee (available at the Java Joint) Time: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Registration: 5:30 AM - 6:15 AM Entry Fee: $60.00 per boat 2 person maximumYou MUST be an RHBC member to fish this tournament. We do not accept membership at the launch ramp, so if you want to fish this one, you will have needed to join the Club at our meeting this Thursday night at BPS Garland. Here is a link to the meeting information. Meeting LinkRegistration will be in the Java Joint starting at 5:30 on Saturday morning. When you register you will be given a numbered chip. You will need to to turn your chip in by placing it on the board get your fish weighed. You can then launch or trailer and go to your spot. No lines in the water until 6:30. Last cast is 3:00. There will be a 30 minute dead water period where no fishing is allowed at the end of the day. This is to give members time to get off the water, and the TD's time to get the weigh in set up. The chip must be back on the board with the Tournament Director by 3:30 and weigh in will start then. You will be called to the scales by boat number. Leave your fish in the live well until your number is called. See you at the ramp!

33 boats came out to play on a cool windy day on little Lake Bonham. Ronnie Manning and Capp Peace came out on top with 5 for 16.95. Jason Hunnicutt and Travis Reaves had big bass of 7.69. Full results and pictures will be posted next week.

Had a fun day! Thx guys and gals!! Capp and I were just gunning for 5 keepers as the goal for the day, as our prefishing day wasn't very productive! We caught our biggest fish first flipping reeds with an m-pack 1/4 oz jig, and then tried to figure something out. Reeds were not being good to us, and we started flipping shallow alligator weed. Capp caught one in 8" of water, then a few minutes later I lost a 3 pounder on a light t-rig in that stuff(pulled him to the top and he flipped off). At that point, we both got a grin on our faces because both of us love flipping heavy braid and big hooks in that stuff! We pulled the big rods out and went to flipping. We would fish a cove until we ran out of the stuff, then drive around to the next cove and stop when we found some. It was 2:50 and we were in the back of a cove and knowing we needed one more good fish... Capp pitches the jig up under a tree in 12" of water and sets the hook... 4 pounder!! (Capp also caught the 6.84 bass on that jig- nice jig Mr Pack!!). At the end of the day, we ended up culling 3or 4 times, lost a few good fish in that stuff, and had our big fish expire (tried fin clips, ice, sure life.. She was just not having it ) haven't lost a fish in many years and I felt horrible about it. She was donated to a fellow that was going to eat her. So no waste, at least.
Thank you Dobyns Rods and Stan Browning, for assisting and supporting me all these years. Capp and I fish well together, and it's awesome to get him back out on the water again! I learn something from him Everytime we fish, he is very skilled!

I tried to get stuff posted before I left on vacation but just ran out of time. I have been in Virginia for the last week visiting family. Guy wins a tournament and can't wait to see it posted all over the net... I just got home late tonight. I'll get it done tomorrow.
