Anything special to do besides clean the boat and livewells good with soapy water? Didn't find any anywhere but little man did catch one on his jig yesterday. Boat needs cleaning anyhow from the slab slobber oil slick all down the side anyhow so gonna scrub her up good and wash the truck too!!

Washed the boat and trailer and livewells down good with soapy water!! Man the livewell screens were horrible!! Maybe will help some with my dead fish problem. I can't keep em alive once it gets warm. Had a good one die yesterday.

Keeping the live well clean will definitely help keeping fish alive in the summer.

What zebra mussels? I thought they all washed downstream to the Gulf of Mexico over the last 2 years.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

I agree with Ken. I also avoid placing fish in the livewell when pre-fishing a tournament but sometimes I forget the cooler when keeping fish and that throws a monkey wrench in the strategy.

Thanks yall!!! I'm gonna scrub em out again real good and use the cooler more! Until this weekend I don't think I've ever cleaned the livewell out. Never worried about keeping fish alive until I started fishing CAT. It's hurt me all 3 tourneys last year and we lost a good one this weekend too. Hopefully we can keep em alive the rest of the year. Might even try and learn how to poke em. They come up pretty fast from my hookset! Bulged eyeballs and air bladders sticking out the throat were common last weekend!! hammer

next time i get to go,i'm using a combination of what you and EZ do,serious hookset which will cause cross-eyed bulging eyeballs.

So does all of this bazillion of gallons of water that has and is still being released not spread zebra mussels anyway?

Yup! It's unfortunately a matter of time before all the lakes around here have them. There is NOTHING we can do to stop it.
