Thinking about a day trip to Ray Roberts with the family and might go carp hunting. I've read Roberts good for carp on-the-fly. Are any of those flats accessible from Isle Du Bois?

With the flood flats are all over some more productive than others and all with a lot of brush rod up should be fun.

Look for carp in the backs of flooded coves - in the grass. There is a big cove on the east side of IslaDuBois that should have some fish in it. I have never fished it but I've looked at it and it looks good to me. Also look for gar. They are hard to land but you can usually get one or two jumps out of them and that's pretty fun to.

My sons used to catch some nice sized carp by wade fishing just beyond the swimming beach in Isle du Bois State Park. They used homemade carp bait and spinning tackle; not fly fishing.

Didn't make it to Ray Roberts but did hit up Lewisville. I found where the buffalo roam. So much fun!

Hey posted some more pics on the dallas fly fishers Facebook page. It's a pretty cool looking fish and appears to be a grassie/fantail hybrid

As many of you know I have been chasing and fishing for carp for well over 15 years - this is the first time I have ever seen a fantail white Amur aka grass carp did some interneting and couldn't turn up any other photos of one either. Very unique fish for sure.

I've been looking to get onto some carp, but haven't seen any in numbers where I've been fishing. What park at Lewisville? Any at Joe Pool? I live in the HEB area.
