Ill be in Aruba in September and would like to do some fishing. My question is should I take a deep sea charter and target bill fish or should I stick around the island flats? I have read the the blue marlin are around in September, and have fished offshore in the Caribbean (Cozumel, Cancun) and the pacific side of Costa Rica, but on the other hand I have never been on a guided inshore trip. Any tips or recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

been a long time but I took a trip out of there and it was pretty lame. Water is very clear and you can see the bottom, very little structure. Pretty much mirrored the island, desolate......one I went on didn't go very far, definitely do your research.

Thanks JRR... Everything that is have researched so far is very hit or miss. I guess Aruba does not have the offshore structure and elevation changes that bring good bill fishing. I have found a guy who offers inshore fly/spin fishing trips where he targets bonefish, small tarpon and snook. I think that since I mostly bass fish this will probably be the best experience, the only thing is that its hard to drink a beer and cast a fly rod. Thanks again JRR.

I looked into fishing Curacao when I was there. Curacao is right next to Aruba. Best fishing would have been the rocks for barracuda.
