I was planning a 5 night trip on the buffalo national river tomorrow but my friends 1 year old just got sick and I'm probably going to have to change plans. Any suggestions on great places to wade fish, preferably for smallmouth (trout are also great), that would be decent for about 3-4 days of fishing and camping? The big thing is avoiding kayaking now as the wife is less excited about me kayaking by myself. I'm will to go anywhere south of northern most Arkansas.

Beavers bend. River is loaded with walleye, smallies, spots, and trout.

Crooked Creek in N. Arkansas for smallies.

Beavers Bend is do-able. A lot of the fishing depends on generation from the power station though. Trout have been very tough recently. Located in extreme SE Oklahoma.

Thanks for the quick responses. I have enough days left I may just do a tour of both of them.

I've also read the Blue River in OK has smallies.
