Oh no, they are taking over the world!
No but seriously they appear to be thriving in Winnsboro. A buddy's dad has been out there all day today and caught 17 on crank baits.
They caught one last week and that's the first Id ever heard of anyone ever catching them in that lake.
Since there are no running creeks feeding the lake I would guess that someone has put them in there.
I sure hate to hear it, I really liked fishing the Wood County lakes.

I fished there this weekend and did not catch a single one. If they are in there I doubt they will last long. With no moving water they should not be able to spawn. Hopefully

They are sure in there now. I think they breed like rabbits.

I hate to hear this. The bad thing is, it will be tough to get them out with the shad population like it is. There is so much food for them that they should thrive. Also the wet year should give them success in spawning. I will do my part if I catch any, release to the grease.
Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

I have been catching a few in Cypress for several years, but they do not seem to be taking off, population wise.

With all the flooding I bet they spread like pigs.
Almost all the semi major and major creeks have them now and every creek has been way out of their banks more than once this year and for extended period of time.
