Thanks for your reply.

I'm looking at 10 ft Pelican or Pond Prowler with Northern Trailer but will be looking at used also in 10 ft.

Any problems Towing and launching with Honda CRV FWD that you know of?

Also, any problems backing 5 x 8 Northern trailer into water with the lights or wheel bearings?

Maybe we can get together when I get a boat.

I'm open to a used boat if you see one.

The only issue with backing up one of these small trailers is that its a small trailer.

They are tricky.

Keep your eye on Craigslist for a boat. Be careful what you buy used. A lot of them get water in the hull and are never the same.

The newer Bass Hunters are made from one piece of roto molded plastic and not 2 thing pieces glued together like the Uncle Bucks, Pelicans and all those... with those its not a matter of if they will leak but when.

Thanks Dan.

I have some experience with the backing on short trailers on my buddies old boat (sold) but mostly a 17 ft bass boat and a 36 ft. RV, both sold. Not much on Craig's and itching to get back on the water so going with new stuff. I tried a Sea Eagle Frameless Pontoon inflatable but too hard to control on the water and sent it back.

Do any of the small places you fish have ramps for trailers?

If anyone needs to know how to repair one of these boats just ask, I would be happy to explain how and what you need to buy.

What is the easiest way to post pics?

Boat and trailer are finished except for some appearance mods that will be done later.

I don't understand why you would want to add weight to your boat.

My boat weights less with all my gear plus battery and motor than your boats do empty.

WTF?

out.

Hey guys,

I need some advise installing Scotty Rod holders to my Bass Raider. I want to mount them on the exterior of the boat. Of course I cant use a backing plate or nuts cause I cant easily access the inside of the boat. I was thinking of using some stainless steel, fine threaded screws, along with some marine adhesive. I want this to be strong, being a rod holder and all but im not sure the best way to proceed. Any advise?

How did it work out?

Rivet gun is your friend. Thats what I use on my yak and I think it would work great on my Bass Hunter. I plan to go that route.

I went with the stainless machine screws and some 3m marine epoxy. Seems to be pretty secure
