Some random thoughts.

For what it's worth I've, caught several buffalo fishing with live shad 3" or shorter. Once I caught a good sized grass carp on a lipless crankbait but that was when the water was really low and the grass carp had no vegetation. If you accidentally snag a big common carp with a crankbait it puts up one heck of a fight!

I'm glad bow fisherman are out there putting a dent in the carp population. I keep telling myself that one day I'll go out and catch a bunch of carp to pressure cook for catfood but that day has never come lol. I did feed a pressure cooked buffalo to the cats though and they rather liked it.
