On a calm, cool, overcast morning, the 2015-2016 season of the Central Texas High School Tournament Trail concluded on Sunday May 15th with the CTHSTT Championship on Lake Belton. 44 of the finest young anglers in the Central Texas area, paired with 22 outstanding Boat Captains, competed for a share of the $5000.00 in Scholarship Money and other prizes totaling more than $6000.00.
As the sun peered over the horizon, 22 Teams anxious to get started were launched. After a long day on the water and with weigh-in time drawing close and the fans of these fine anglers began to gather, the first team to weigh fish stepped up to the scales. For the next 35 minutes, team after team stepped up to the scales to weigh what they hoped would be the winning weight to take the top spot. As the last team weighed their catch, a total of 79 Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass had been weighed and every team had brought fish to the scales.
