Not sure if they are closing the store or not, but if not, they must have missed the last few shipments.

That Academy and the one on Forest Lane have consistently been the worst for fishing lures/equipment.

Definitely agree with that. It appeared the Plano store was about to go out of business with the way all of the shelves (not just fishing) were picked through and unorganized.

I have a friend who works there that told me that they remodel 20-25 stores a year and the one's that have the reel bars and high end rod displays are the new platform. That is what is going on in Dallas. Good things to come for us.

This Plano store has turned into a real mess. Used to shop there for most of my fishing stuff. Now I can barely find anything I want anymore it is so screwed up. I seem to spend more time at Cabela's lately. A little more expensive but I can at least find what I am looking for.

I get it.

Guess I'm going to have to resort to using the phone.

A worker in the lufkin store said the company sends products, they dont order items anymore. I have made several attemps at certain baits and parts for a kayak that were never available in store. The website is actually easier to get items, but I like seeing things in person especially new to me items.

The one in Webster(Bay area/Clear Lake) is great! Bought a few rolls of Sunline Sniper for 8$ a piece a few months ago. Use their website a lot. Adding stuff all the time. Orders arrive usually in less than 3 days. The Magellan clothing line is nice for the price. Scan that item! You might be surprised.
