What do you prefer weightless or weighted Texas Rigged?

Taterbones, by definition, a Texas Rig is fished with a bullet type slip sinker. Anything else is just a weightless worm with the hook embedded in the plastic.

When the bass are super lethargic or when bait fish are spawning one of my favorite techniques is a weightless trick worm worked around matted grass or pads! if I can find a hole about the size of a soft ball or bigger just hold on! Seriously super deadly certain times of the year.

I understand that a Texas Rig technically is with a weight but thought that would be the easiest way to explain my question.

Senko or fluke in shallow water I prefer weightless.
Worm, creature bait, or craw tube I prefer weighted.

always weighted... except for senkos. It then just depends on how windy it is.

I'd only add that if you are fishing really snaggy bottoms where you'd get hung up a lot with a normal bullet weight Texas Rig, but you still want to fish on the bottom, I have often just pinched on a small split shot to get it down but it makes it harder to snag.

No, you don't get that "hop" where the bullet weight gets ahead of the worm if you pop the rod, but I'll sometimes trade that for losing tackle.

Weighted 90% of the time. Might only be a swivel or nail..but some sort of weight.

Weighted of course.....tungsten always....sometimes a plastic bead....if I want weightless I'm wacky rigged....or fishing flukes
