Getting ready to build a big workbench and cabinets in the garage. I'm trying to get some ideas on fishing gear storage.

Let's see some garage setups!

Planning on building cabinets with doors. Was hoping to see some pictures of how everyone has their gear stored

I have steel shelves on the back wall that my outboard tucks in between for tackle boxes, fluids, etc. Electric outlet on wall to plug charger into.

I can only dream of a garage that clean. My wife has too much furniture from when we were divorced. When we got back together.....I remarried her new furniture and ecessive school supplies.

I simply have rod holders for 60 rods and a table to work on. The rest is in my travel tubs. I keep em there so when I hit the road, it's an easy load into the truck.

I don't have the wall space for a large pegboard so I store Plano boxes in an old wide style file cabinet and on a top shelf I keep plastics in clear shoe storage boxes.

I used to keep all me over flow baits in a heavy black trash bag under the front deck...got invited on a weekend fish trip, and I pulled the bag out to get a few things.while I was gone the wife but the house hold trash in my boat so the dogs wouldn't tear into it. Following Monday I haul the trash off and throw away all me tackle...didn't even know it till later...moral... however you organize your tackle. Don't put it in trash bags.the end

You always have a few things that need to be stored in cabinets. I have found that all the rest needs to be quickly accessed. This is not exactly how my shop is done but here are my suggestions:
- build two rows of lower cabinets with doors having your work bench counter top for all the items you will be working on. I put everything I can in the clear storage boxes in those under cabinets. You can never have enough counter space.
- Put a high wide shelf near the ceiling that that you can store the items that are hardly ever used. I put all these things that are small enough in the clear plastic tubs with lids. I can look up there and see basically what is inside and get the ladder to get one down when needed.
- Several racks built to hold the Plano boxes looks really impressive in each corner of your work bench area sitting on top.
- Pegboard the whole shop area even if you are going to put floor cabinets over some of it. If you decide to rearrange then it want be a problem.
- All space between the counter top and upper shelf can be used to hand packages of plastics and etc..
- Air-conditioning is a must have in order to stay out there to work. Make those arrangements from the beginning.

It is still cluttered when I unload the boat for any reason.
