My dad and I are heading down to Castell for our annual Llano river trip.

We are looking to do the float between White's Crossing and James River Crossing. I wanted to see if anyone knows for hard of a float this will be. My dads got bad knees and doesn't want to deal with the rock gardens anymore. We have done the trip from 87 to castell and James to 87, but I don't think he can handle those trips anymore.

Anyone floated this trip recently?

We were just in the area this past weekend; the flow was running around 200 CFS and seemed the water was up perhaps 6 to 9" from normal gage. There was rain coming up from the south, but not sure if there was much out to the west to cause a significant change from what he experienced while wade fishing from Castell to Long's Fish Camp.

It's not nearly as bad as the James River to 87, That's a lot of dragging through there. It's shallow off the bat at whites but gets better some shallow Rapids but it's really pretty through there.

Old guys in the gas station said it was going to crest at 16'. They got hammered around junction last night
