My first bass boat was an Arrow Glass like the one in the first pic. Bought it from my brother in law...kept it a couple years and sold it back to him. My first brand new Skeeter was the Wrangler 120 with a 115 Yamaha. Yamaha had just entered the American market. That boat would haul bass. My wife called it "The Monster".
To whom much is given, much is required.

Brand New Skeeter .... $6,495.00 That is very similar to the first bass boat my dad bought. It was a 1976 Grand Prix of Fishing Tournament on Toledo Bend model Skeeter Wrangler! There were only 45 built and IIRC there were 40 pros who qualified for the tournament. It was equipped with a 140 hp Evinrude, Garcia paper graph, Humminbird flasher, trolling motor, Cobra? CB Radio, 6' antenna, 2 or 3 tackle boxes full of the best bass baits made, a couple rods and reels, 2 PFD's, and several other things that I can't remember at the moment. I was only 10 at the time but remember going to Toledo Bend to pick it up and bring it home. We have some pics somewhere (if they have survived) and maybe one day I'll find them and will share them if I do.

This thread brings back a LOT of memories - some of me almost dying... In 1978 I sold my Ranger TR-10 with a Johnson 135 on back (rated for 85 hp) and bought a brand new 17' Stryker rated for 115 HP. It was popped off the Hydra Sport 168Vee. I put a brand new Evinrude 235 on it. The dealer thought I was crazy but a friend of mine in Wylie had a 15' Baja ski-boat with a Johnson 235 on it. He had a jackplate & a foot throttle (before Hotfoot) and taught me how to drive a fast vee bottom. He and I rigged my boat the same way as his Baja. That boat would run 85 mph in 1978. I have some pix of it but they're in the attic and it's 135 degrees up there so I ain't going. Looked just like this one.

Me & a buddy were at Toledo Bend way back when and ran into Virgil Ward in one of these. I was star-struck at seeing a real live TV fishing celebrity in person. We talked to him at the dock and he was an awesome person.
