Braid or straight floro? Pound test? Line to leader knot? Just wondering what everyone recommends.

I use straight fluro, 7 lb on a spinning set up. I've caught a lot fish in cover 5-6 lbs and got them out. If the water is a little stained and not crystal clear I'll do it on 10lb on a bait caster.

Currently 10lb Mono, Palomar Knot.

I plan to use the same set up as my shakey head rig this year and see how it works. 40lb Stren Braid to 10lb Stren 100% Flouro, Albright Knot. I only use the 40lb braid due to it is the same diameter as 10lb Flouro, i feel the knot holds better with the same diameter line. But thats just me!

This, but I also throw a heavy 15-17 lb Fluro set up in the thick stuff...

Do you use a larger hook as well? I tend to use a small drop shot hook any time I drop shot but have been thinking about using a regular worm hook

TUF-Line Super Cast

I use this for my main line and I love it. This braid is very round and doesn't create a lot of friction. Therefore, it casts far, very easily and it doesn't dig in to your spool creating backlashes and shorter casts.

Sunline Finesse FC Flourocarbon

I use this line for my leader. I use the 8 pound and have yet to break off on a big fish, and I've caught some monsters on a drop shot. This line is specifically made for finesse fishing and it is STRONG! It's super limp, easy to work with, and the knot strength is incredible! Give it a try, it's well worth the money!
