I've been messing around with material to tie the worm. Here's one using some cool looking yarn I picked up in wally world. Put a fire tail on it with red rubber. Tied on a #4 saltwater hook. How about some pics of some more?-p-

Or, as a bass might say, "I'd hit that!"

that worm is weightless; so you have to soak it good to get any descent. I generally use a florecarbon furled leader to get it down a foot or two below the surface. It will stay almost suspended at rest and with a floating line it generally will get no deeper than 2 or 3 feet; great for the shoreline huggers-p-

Looks pretty good. I imagine you can tie it on a 1/64 jig head if you want to reach the bottom.

Here's a couple. Back in the early 60's creme lure company came out with a plastic worm that was rigged with a spinner on the front. They were the first I remember using. Before that we would use an inline spinner with a real worm following on a small hook. Anyway, these are tied on a #6 3366 big eye hook, using medium chenille. The bottom one, the chenille is wrapped around a small tube. I am hoping by using the medium chenille they will absorb less water and be more cartable-p-

Those look good. I've tried 3 different kinds of material for worms and still haven't found one I like. The problem I had with the finer chenille is after a few fish it was scuddled. That first one looks like a more durable worm. Good job

Did you braid the tail end?

that worm is made from some buggy looking yarn from wally world. What I do;
1. I take one of the cheap little fans that are run by a battery, taking the propellor off and affixing a cup hook on the end. I take about 4 foot of yarn and twist it with the fan motor; then I put a hemostat clamped on in the middle, bring the end back to the vice where the other end is anchored and let the hemostats weigh down the twist as it "untwists".
2. I double it again and twist it, repeating step one. I then tie the length I want on the shaft of the hook at the curve.
3. Take a few strands of rubber and make the tail, wrap thread around the rubber and whip finish, adding a drop of super glue on the threads.( I use needle to get the rubber thru the tail)
4. Take what is left of the twisted yarn and tie it in at the "tail" and palmer it forward, tying it off.
5. take a big hackle feather and wind it around the place where I tied in the body, stroking the hackles rearward and whip finish the head.
that is probably not the "accepted" method but its what I do. Hope the explanation is clear.-p-
( You can see the pink thread where I tied in the tail and then the body. I should have hid that when I palmered the body, but the fish don't care)

Nice looking worms. Another good material for worms is Patons Bohemian Yarn. Very thick and make nice bodies and tails.
