 Abu Garcia Premier Backlash Problem

I have a Abu Garcia Premier that you cannot adjust. It will backlash every throw. I have been using Abu Garcia for forty years and have never had this problem. Can someone tell me what I could do to fix it??

Revo Premier? Take the side plate off and use the dial to adjust the magnets and make sure they go up and down with adjustment. I have seen a few Abu's have issues with the magnets before.
