I don't think anyone here is saying to fight someone that gets in your way. Just saying to address it on the water when it happens. You don't have to cuss anyone or threaten anyone to let them know you feel they are too close or cut you off. You can do so respectfully. Communcation can solve a lot of issues real or imagined.

To sit there in silence and then get home and get behind a keyboard and say "to the guy in whatever boat"....just brings drama here.

I completely agree. But I read in here somewhere that someone said something about going to the bank and settling the issue. The very first word of this thread says it al, "dude"...

I mean someone sliding at you at 2nd base, that's a different situation all together!

No verbal altercation on my behalf, not sure about the fighting deal, not from my boat...

I would guess the people that post these types of things live their life like this day to day.

Do not stand up for themselves when they have the opportunity and then they grow a set of internet nads when they get home.

I can't not imagine what it's like to live life like that...

This. of all the years I've been fishing I have hardly ever had an issue with another angler. The other day this guy was fishing with his son and I saw him struggling with a spinning reel. They were staying the Perch on eagle mountain but his son couldn't quite reel them in. I had my sons snoopy pole in my boat and have it to him. The guy and I talked for 45 mins, super nice guy. He even dropped it back off to me when they left after I said he could keep it. I believe most anglers are the nicest people on the planet. But there are always those few

A long time ago on Eagle Mtn. I once "caught" a jet ski driver on the arm with a slab spoon. The 2nd time he buzzed us while we were fishing for schooling sandies I threw it at him, hooked him, he pulled drag, spooled me, and I lost my lure. The lake patrol came shortly after and asked if it was an intentional act. I said: "Of course not. If he was that close to me while I was fishing, he was too close, and therefore he was at fault." They said OK and left.

To get away from the rat race, try and relax and catch a few fish. Why let someone ruin that for you or ruin that for someone else. There is a time to fight and there are reasons to stand your ground, but someone getting in your path at the lake while fishing isn't one of those.
very well said Slade.

Bull. Anyone tough enough to get hooked, keep hauling azz, spool your reel and break the line with trebles embedded in him would have come back and beat your arse into a blood puddle.
