What are some of your favorite chatter bait trailers? How do you decide when to remove the skirt and just use the trailer? Thanks.

gotta go with 4-5 in plastic swimbait, I believe that's the most dominant combo all spring w the elites; Christie, Brett Hite, Britt Myers, Clunn have all won a lotta money this year with this bait. Hite won one last year with a chatterbait plus a yamamoto senko with a tail.

I like the skirt in very shallow water, extremely heavy cover and stained water. I use a single leg off the Stanley Pro Trailer for some kick. Sometimes I will use a paddle tail worm cut down to fit for the right length.

I remove the skirt when fishing clear water and slow rolling it deep in 8 to 15 ft. of water.

5" caffeine shad, Swimming Fluke, Lake Fork Magic Shad, Keitech Easy Shinner.
Leave the skirt on.

Zoom fluke if I'm fishing craw or bluegill pattern, or 4" LFT Magic Shad (White or Silver) with dipped tail on shad pattern.

Havoc Subwoofer. No fast rule for me - I try both & let the fish tell me skirt or not.

I leave the skirt on. Just trim it back some even with the hook.

Thanks, trying to get use to chattebaits. Always had luck with spinners, but wanted something different. Any colors you like? Been using white mainly

I like LFT Magic Shad, the Perch colors are good as well. For a more subtle presentation I will trim the skirt back to where the gills would be on the trailer and slim down my tailer using a Smash Tech or Big Bite Baits cane thumper. Try the Finch Nasty Thumper.

Try putting a 1.5 crank on the back. thumb

Really though, I use the JR sized paddle tail flukes in white ice. Otherwise just a small grub works well too. If you really want to go high end, check into Kietech's little 3-4" paddle tails.

Skirt on, twin tail trailer (Zoom I think, white with tips dyed chartreuse).

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.
