Good stuff ! -- I'm with Ratandjmt --- Now that shes full Dump another 200,000 Baby Bass in her !! How bout some catfish and crappie as well! The video is just beautiful and something to just take all in. It's not often but a few times in a lifetime that it happens. Side note,2 weeks ago kids were perch jerking and we caught a healthy channel cat about 10". I hope they did stock the lake,if not though,I guess the cats have reproduced. Crappie, catfish and hybrid perch stocking would be awesome. A lot of kids fish that lake. The bluegill are in there if you are fishing for them. I have taken my kids over there a few times to just fish for those with red worms. Personally I would like to keep it a bass lake. We already have Calaveras and Brauning close by for catfish. I caught this one on 29 May. It hit a 4" plastic work I was bass fishing with. Nice size though.

Went to medina yesterday and launched at the county park. As of yesterday they changed the boat launch fee to $10 from $5. Water was clear to about 6' and much cleaner than I expected. A little floating debris in a few areas but not much to worry about. Started off throwing lft swim baits into fish busting on the surface, caught a bunch and that bite ended around 10. Did some wakeboarding then hit a few points with flooded brush, that went okay but not great. As the sun got up we got a good bite on worms/Ned rig under docks. Toward 3 or so we switched to grande bass airtails on shaky heads in about 20' which was really preductive. Chatterbaits also hit a few all throughout the day. Overall a great day on the water, we had great numbers but the size was fairly small. Everything we caught looked very healthy and most were pretty fat even for the small size. They also put up crazy fights for the size, the last one I hooked I would have bet anything it was 3lbs when it hit and only ended up being 1lb, he slammed that thing. We also saw a lot of bluegill if that's your thing.

No they didn't, that is good to know though. Also, the lady said last weekend the line was a mile and a half long to get in and the park was full. Take that in mind if you plan to go this weekend.

Annual pass for bandera and medina county residents is $35,and $50 for non. Unless prices changed recently. Also,I suggested a price increase for park users, not boat launch users. $10 a car load to $15. When park is full, have to take measures to reduce the head count. Makes it hard for boaters and fisherman to launch. I'll talk with them later and see what's going on.$10 launch and $15 for Riotex sounds suspicious. Park was donated to county from SA bas club so that area fisherman will always have affordable access to lake. Not so SA area water stealers can come and play in the water before they flush it when the lake is dry again, hehe. I'll give a report tomarrow on what I find out.

Very odd.... I guess I must've had someone that was clueless about the pricing??? They told me $25 for annual pass for everybody, even non-county residents and $5 for boat launch, $10 for park use. I thought it was going to be $15 total, but they said "nope, just $5 for launching. Use the park and it's $10".

So Rio got ripped off.
$50 isn't too horrible for non-residents. Boerne Lake charges $125.00 for an annual pass and the fishing sucks too.

Chu Chu they just changed prices, website isn't current. I bought a yearly pass a week ago or so for $35. Today I went and they said the $35 covers me and the boat and my kids under 12 are free but my wife today needed to pay $5 so we bought her a yearly pass. Now we have 2 tags to hang from mirror or if wife chooses to let me go with my boys and she meet me there, she now has her own pass for her car, pass goes with person. Today it was confusing, bet those car load of people freaked out when they were charged $5 a head. Frustration is worth it. We're paid up for a year for $70,can't beat that!

Won't ever fish that pea green [censored] water again! someone should have been honest about how junky those lakes are,we drove and was like really!!! Dead pleccos floating and nasty, whole lake was nasty! Ah!!!

On a happy note, boat ran good, kids had a good time swimming, they seen some perch while swimming so I rigged a pole up and caught a few within a few feet of the outboard. Good hand sized fatties. Catching gills in 73' of water and no structure and only 4'-5' deep was quite strange and fun. Mormons bluff area. It's great for everything!

So the lake fills up and now they jack up the prices, figures. I'm sure the rest of the ramps around there have done the same thing too though, guess I'll go back to Canyon instead.

Yup,used to launch at reds cove for $8,would always leave a $10 in the drop box. Last year they went to $15 I heard so went back to the county park. I don't know if Red's has an annual pass available. Joe's place does but so tight and funky fee chart,so we don't go there either. Side note,we made it up past Pop's place. 16-20'deep,sure wish they would re open. Good fishing up there right now.lebould's point area

I was out there Friday with the kids and the lady at the gate was saying that they were thinking about charging for each person. I guess that was a quick decision for some extra money. For me it is kind of frustrating. I bought a season pass for $50 back in January of this year. Now that we have some water in the lake they want to start price gouging people. I think people who already had a pass should be grandfathered in. It's not about the money it's the principle. They also need to start limiting people. You know it is bad when even the guy/gal working the gate tell you that they should have closed the gate a few hours ago because they are over capacity. But the head guy wants to keep letting them come in so they can earn a few extra bucks. This is why I usually go early in the morning and leave around lunch time.
