This December my family and I are looking to do a vacation in Mexico. This vacation will basically be a family vacation. Dad and I would like to fish one of the Mexican lakes for bass with a guide. I don't really care which lake it is (I'd prefer Picachos, Sugar, El Salto, Baccarac, or Guerrero) as they can all produce trophies and numbers, but my Mom and sister need to have a little spa time and pampering. My question is, do any of these lakes mentioned or any Mexican bass fishing lake have a place for them to get a spa day in or some pampering? Please be honest about your answers or experiences and let's keep this post civil. Thank you so much!

Kyle

Anglers inn on el salto has a spa I believe.

You can do a day trip out of mazatlan to pichcios easily while they go to a spa in mazatlan

I would get in touch with Ron Speeds outfit they know everything about every lake in Mexico. I have only been to Guerrero and they are not set up for what your are looking for.

I've been looking at Ron Speed Adventures and I like what I see, except for "bringing your own lures". That just seems odd to me. I have way too much tackle to travel with. How do you guys figure out what to bring and how do you travel with it?

If my wife went I would let her stay in Mazatlan rather than go to the lake. Not much for her to do out there, you can only read and eat so much.

I'm sure Ron would tell you what you need to bring. Just grab what you need out of your tackle assortment and pack it in one duffle bag for the trip. That would be my approach anyway.

Baccarac for big bass, but its the furthest away from mazatlan about 5+ hr drive. El Salto has turned back on last couple years. So i would pick el salto for being close to mazatlan.

we used to go to Comedero but havnt been since it re opened its about 4+ hours away.

We've stayed with Ron Speed on El Salto and Comedero. If El Salto stays hot i'd look there if i was going.

Take big worms. Everytime I would ask our guide what to throw. His only answer was 8"worm. If they are biting they will hit anything you are comfortable throwing. Just keep asking on here what baits are working. Since there is no advantage to not sharing the info you should get plenty of help. If this is your first trip remember to tip the guides if you want to be on fish. At least that was always my experience.

I know we'll be taking big worms, spinnerbaits, craws/creatures, cranks, jigs, and maybe spoons. I'm not concerned about what to take as much as I am concerned how you guys took them and how you broke down the amount to take.

This....

Plenty of great resorts in Mazatlan but look at El Cid's Marina property.

You guys will be at the lake in 45 mins and Speed will arrange everything for you.

Take plenty of watermelon lizards but call Bill before you go for an up-to-date report.
