Headed to Cedar Creek in a couple of weeks with my cousins, uncles, and a few friends. Should be 4 or 5 boats worth. Anybody have any catfishing reports? We're staying mid-lake, in a cove on the east side south of the islands.

You shouldn't have much trouble finding nice eating size blues with fresh shad on windblown point and humps. I would start my search in 8-12ft of water.

Thanks, Lane. We usually do OK running jugs in 12-15 ft and fishing shallow with rod and reel. Sometimes it's a challenge to find fish though.

I understand completely. You should be able to find good schools of shad under the 198 bridges at dawn if that's of any help.

Our trip was just fair. We caught 8-12 per half day, compared to 15-30 per half day last year. We found a few pole fish in the willows around the islands below the bridge, but not much size. Jug line fish were a little slow as well. We did get into them good around the points of the islands a couple of times. First time I'd ever seen catfish schooling on the surface like white bass. A little Danny King a couple of feet below a cork did the trick in that situation.
