 Buddy is leaving for the Navy..Need help!

My buddy's leaving for the navy Monday and we a taking a farewell fishing trip Friday. We plan on fishing all day since we really don't when we will be able to go fishing again. We are wanting to target some nice big blues. We have tried to catch big blues a handful of times but never caught anything over 10 pounds. We have the gear for big blues just never happens lol. I have a boat. We are thinking tawakoni or Ray Hubbard. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice to lead us in the right direction. Thanks!
