What's the best to use for soaking carbs. I've read some take off garnishes, eat up brass etc. I have a Mercury 2 stroke 125. I've heard Sea Foam is good to soak them in. All input is greatly appreciated.

Sea foam is good stuff but the only time I will soak a crab is when they are apart and I'm rebuilding them with new carb kits
If it was easy, everyone would do it

I haven't taken my outboard carbs apart yet to clean them, been getting away with spraying sea foam into them and putting sea foam in the gas.
When I rebuild my motorcycle, atv and chainsaw carbs I spray the parts with spray carb cleaner and then I put the parts in an ultrasonic cleaner with a little jewelry cleaner/degreaser mixed in with the water and the heat turned up as long as there are no plastic or rubber parts in there. Then I blow dry the parts with an air compressor and put back together.....

Do not use Berrymans what ever you do!! It to harsh on outboard carbs. I have used Napa carb cleaner 6402 and it works great and wont hurt the coating on the bowl or carb at all. It comes in a paint size can and is like $26.

Yes sir, I'm taking them apart. Order you some carb kits so you will have new gaskets and it will run like a new one
If it was easy, everyone would do it
