so i will be in corpus for a few days here in a week and have never been. fished around Beaumont a lot growing up but have not salt water fished in a few years, so rusty but not oblivious. my question to you pros is where can i go around there to catch some fish? not picky at all! will have a boat but no fish finder or fancy electronics. due to the boat i will be limited to the bay. bank spots, patters, bait, any advise is helpful. just looking to wet a hook and maybe catch a few! thanks guys/galls!

You might look at launching in Aransas Pass at the Ransom Road county launch ramp(free). If you head straight east from there, you can go out to Ransom Island, Ransom Point, Steadman Reef, Dagger Island and Point, all good fishing areas with not too many shallow points. Look on Google Maps and you can find the channels and probable fish choke points. Tides have been running on the high side of normal, so you should be able to stay out of trouble. Remember: If in doubt, slow down! Catch'em up!

I'll be down that way this weekend as well. Thinking about taking out the kayak in the bay, see how the wind is going to be, I may just stick to the lights by the condo. Any tips for fishing right by the causeway is greatly appreciated!
