Had a good day on eagle mountain, fished from 9 to about 2. Fished the murky water up in the north end and actually did great, fish were stuck next to cover. Mainly docks and any stick ups/lay downs. Visibility was terrible but it seemed like the perfect pitch made the difference if I was more than a few inches off the cover I didn't get bit.
Most bites were in 1-4 foot of water, and a couple in deeper 7-8ft on docks I know have brush on them. Threw a Pacemaker 5/8 black/blue flipping jig with a speed craw trailer. Caught around 18 fish, most 13-14" and a few 17" was the biggest i didn't Weigh them.

The wind made it tough, kept me from hitting some of my good docks

Also saw a million snakes, one cotton mouth that is lucky he didn't close. And I believe this is a giant broad banded water snake, could be an overweight diamondback water snake. Regardless he looks like he doesn't miss many meals

We saw a *bunch* of snakes there on Saturday. Reminded me of the old days fishing in the Everglades when we spent as much time shooting cottonmouths as we did fishing. Everything we saw Saturday appeared to be nonvenomous.

I've never seen a cottonmouth on EM, just a bunch of big water snakes.

I know my snakes well. Every snake but 1 was either a yellow bellied water snake, broadband water snake, or diamondback water snake. You can tell by the vertical bars on their mouths.

The one water moccasin I saw was by west bay, and he was on a load, I thought he had the body of a cotton mouth from far away so I cruised over, pitched my jig next to him and he opened his mouth and it was aparant. Also has horizontal bar down the mouth not vertical and the split eyes. He was about 3.5' long. He's a pretty copper color though

I was on Eagle Mountain last week and saw over 20 snakes in about 4 hours. One went under my big motor while I was trolling around. Can these things climb up in the boat?
