I know to fish darker colors in stained water. The two lakes I fish have probably 1' or less visibility pretty much year round. I usually go with black and chartreuse, but was just curious what some of the more experianced fisherman might have to say.

In wouldn't consider myself more experienced but as far as colors go, you're on the right track with the black and chartreuse. I've fished with electric chicken, black/chartreuse, oranges, reds, browns and even white with chartreuse in muddy water.... If I'm jigging, I'll tip with a minnow for more movement, use a road runner head or use the crappie nibbles. Anything to add more vibration or contrast to the jig can't hurt.

Pink, chartreuse, and orange are usually good choices, I always like a tail of one of these colors with a black body when fishing really muddy water.

I don't think color works anymore, now a plastic jig with a lot of flash works better. Today for me it was ice shad by thermocline lures. But would think a spinner bait might be good.

White is always a good choice, it has colors in the UV spectrum that fish eyes can see but we can't.
