Stopped and fished it yesterday for about two hours on my way to Toledo Bend. Never been before but will be back. Fair amount of bites on shallow docks on Texas rig craw. Most were 2-3lbs with biggest being about 6lbs. Fished front 3pm till 5pm. Might hit it again on way home if I have time.

I grew up on Lake Murvaul. It's definitely an East Texas hidden gem. Glad I grew up fishing there. Made my dock fishing skills sharp at a young age.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways with a fishing rod in one hand, 10# LMB in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and yelling "Wow! What a Ride!

Nice. It is my favorite lake. Seems to be getting a lot more pressure this year than in year's past, but is still putting out great fish week in and out. If you stop back by make sure to flip some reeds in addition to shallow docks. I've been catching some good ones in the thick stuff.

I ended up staying a bit longer on Toledo Bend today so i skipped out on Murvaul but I will be going back. I love fishing docks so I can see myself making another trip out there soon.

Yeah murvaul's no good anymore...with all the reed grass you just can't get a good cast to the bank.. and all the boat docks just keep you hung up...and all those 4 to 8 pound bass keep you from catching the eating size fish...not to mention those pesky huge crappie that like to hit bass lures...YEP..Just not much of a lake anymore.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Watch out for stumps with about an inch of rusted rebar sticking out. My boats been in the shop twice over them. I just quit going never catch any fish and the boat damage isn't worth it.
