I know there is a thread about night fishing techniques but I am more interested in what areas you target and what times are most productive? I mostly fish Cedar Creek and haven't had any luck night fishing the docks. Should I simply pull off those docks back to the break line? Also, is there a certain time during the night that seems to produce better? Thanks in advance.

In my limited night time ventures, the bite is usually dead for a good portion of the night and there will be a period of an hour or two where they will turn on. I fish around full moons. Because there's more light. If I fish docks at night I slow down ALOT. Otherwise like you said, breaks. Depth change is your friend. Points, creek bends in the front halves of pockets, flats near creeks. Also, I don't know what your lure selection is, but stick to the same things you catch them on during daylight. Big colorado blades do work at night, but for the most part, whatever your imitating to catch them during the day, doesn't change colors at night, why should your color selection.

Since you fish Cedar Creek, 20 minutes further and night fish Athens. Fished from 1am-noon Saturday and caught 13 fish in the dark. It will only get better from here

somewhere around midnight the bite seems to pick up for an hour or so. I fish the same areas that I do during the day.

I have found that fishing at night on Cedar Creek means fishing the lighted docks. works for bass and big sandbass. the light attracts bugs which attracts bait which attracts fish. Hope this helps

I have had great success fishing at night (mostly in mid-summer) with soft plastics and jig/pork combinations in thick timber/brush in the 8-315' and 20-30' depth ranges, and also in the extreme back of brushy coves using a 1/4 or 1/8 oz black single-spin with black blade and black soft plastic trailer.
