Good luck finding a SAFE place anywhere around Tawakoni. I've stayed at 3 different places and bad experience at all 3. If it was just you it would be different, not a family. Lots of safe places around Lake Fork but would probably be more crowded. I bet you and your family would have a great time at either Lake Murray or Broken Bow, that's my advice. Check'em out.

Thank you sir ! We are pretty much rookies when it come to fishing from a boat. We stayed at the Tawakoni City park back in March. Had heard both good & bad things but luckily we had a good experience. Just looking for something different this time. If it was just me then I'd camp in a tent. But not with the wife and 2 young kids lol The wife chose Tawakoni for her Mother's Day outing so we are kinda locked in this time lol. Have never seen muchless fished either lake you mentioned. But I will certainly be putting them on the "have to visit" list !! Good luck finding a SAFE place anywhere around Tawakoni. I've stayed at 3 different places and bad experience at all 3. If it was just you it would be different, not a family. Lots of safe places around Lake Fork but would probably be more crowded. Try looking up houses for rent, the ones we stay at are super nice and are in good neiborhoods. Not too expensive either.

Shoestring Farms is the only place I stay anymore. Try it once and I believe that you will feel the same way.

Grew up on Tawakoni and Texoma before hybrids and stripers existed on either.
