I live in Keller north of FTW (near 170 and 377). I am looking for a place to launch my kayak in a creek/river or other area that does not have a lot of bass boat traffic. I fish ultra light tackle and catch and release, so any kind of fish is good for me. I like a pretty view and to avoid larger vessels. Also need a place that has safe parking for my vehicle. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be welcome.

I live in the same neck of the woods too....if I feel the need to have a short fishing excursion, I'll roll out to the Fort Worth Nature Center, Trinity River (Panther Island Pavilion) or Marine Creek. I've caught fish in all three locations. Quantity for greasing is another story.

Of the three, if you're aiming to catch and grease, go to Fort Worth Nature Center. I've caught a lot of crappie and sandbass there. The Only big "fear factor" (in my opinion) are the alligators that reside there.

I've actually captured an alligator image on my Lowrance Elite 5 Chirp Fish Finder (in 5-8 feet of water). I'm literally seeing a whole full image of alligator underneath 5-8 foot of water. Although, it's a bit nerve racking, they pretty much will leave you alone.

Also, I've caught a lot of fish there without a lot of boat traffic. Scenery is fantastic. Vehicle parking is safe too. Go check it out!

Thanks guys. I think I will try Trophy Club Park in the morning. Water is high, but that gives me something to blame if I can't catch anything.

x2 on Trophy Club Park (the artist formerly known as Marshall Creek Park). Very pretty and I have had great luck fishing there. Water is still up really high right now. Let me know how you do out there if you make it out. I was thinking about sneaking out there this week at some point to see if the crappie were still in there.
