The metallic colors have all ways been big in my sells for jigs, but since last fall black chrome is about 40 percent of all sells. My way now is paint a white base, cook and then add a black coat, cook and then add chrome spray that looks clear. cook then add Vinyl top coat, and cook it. Have found out that I can get a better look and shiny look using a top coat like the guys use on car wheels. If any of you are into this are thinking about getting into it they do sell, if they are right. The color is the same as the car wheels that most people like. Its about the same as the candy colors as for as time, but the cost is more but now days they will pay for what they want and like. Any info that might help or don't go there would like to hear.

If your're using powder paint you should be able to leave out the white coat before the black.

I use powder on the first 2 coats, but am told by the paint company's that white is the only one that will bond to the lead.

All powder paint sticks to lead if the lead is hot enough.

I agree with you guys, but on jigs that I sell as premium jigs I don't stick the paint on. It has to be bonded, and I use clear cure goo to put the jigs together. On my own I do what ever I have time for. Also on candy colors and the metallic colors with out the base you do not get true colors. Guest it depends on if you tie 75 cents jigs are the 1.50-2.00 dollars ones.

Doesn't make a difference. Putting white under black is just extra work. Contributes NOTHING to the finished product.

I've got black slabs I painted and only way that paint is coming off the slabs is to destroy the slab.

lol, most of the jigs I fish is left over from the jigs I tie for others. The price of the hooks is about it.
