Hey there GeneC! laugh
Your boat looks about the same as mine. Iam surprised your gross weight (boat and trailer) is over 4500 lbs. I take mine to Rockwall Hitch & Trailer also for trailer works, as suggested by GeneR.

It's not what it weighs ... It is what the trailer is rated .... over 4500 .. you need inspection ...
Trailer manufacturers know what they are doing ... Mine is rated 3450 ..NO INSPECTION.... YAY

Hey Guys! I have a dual axle 12' trailer rated at 6000 lbs. I did the same thing when I received the letter to get the inspection(what?). So I proceeded to start making phone calls. I told the people at the office that it was rated at 6000, but would never have that much weight on it. So she told me that if I declared that it would never haul that much on a paper form they would waive the inspection. So that is what I did. Ask them and if you don't intent on hauling more than 4500 lbs you should be able to do the same. Get it waived. Good Luck! Garry

The inspection is only $7 and takes all of 10 minutes if you don't have to wait for them to get on it. I think most of the Kwick Kar oil change places across the state will do it among others. Good thing is it forces you to have all your lights working but that is a good thing for everyone else on the road.
