I am looking for a spot to launch for my kayak maiden voyage. I remember someone mentioning Oliver Nature Park in Mansfield to launch on the Walnut creek. Could I get more info on this? The park website is not geared towards water activities. What is the entry fee? Where do you launch?

No entry fees, but I don't remember seeing a good place to launch into the creek. It's more of a city park. Loyd park on Joe Pool has plenty of places to launch a yak, and you are fairly close to the mouth of the creek. Entry fee is $10 though.

No go on launching at this park. The banks were way too steep and overgrown. We went to Loyd Park, but the boat traffic was ridiculous!
