Just bought a boat that has been stored for 10 years. I need to replace the tires on it because of rot. I know this has been discussed recently but can't find it in the search function. Where is a good place int he DFW area to get them?

I always go with a radial.
Carlisle Duratrail RH Radial from Discount Tire. These are 8 ply
Addendum: checking further, I think they are 10 ply

Same here and I've been getting all my tires at Discount Tire for about 30 years or more.

About 7-8 years ago I went by there to get a set of Carlisles put on. Cowser used to be located in the city I work in and they would service some of the city trucks etc. Through that I learned that Kevin is a fisherman. Long story short he reccomended I try the Triangle brand instead. A set of 4 was significantly cheaper. I was hesitant but I bought them. Now I have had them on 3-4 different boats and have put a ton of miles on the set on my Ranger. NEVER an issue at all. Absolutely great tire. I have told many of my friends about them and they run them and have had the same performance from them.

They are pretty big in the RV world and come stock on some travel trailers and 5th wheels. Great tires at a great price. My next set will be Triangles.

Note for those that find this in the future and are running a 14" wheel, from my reading, it looks like the Kumho 857 (D rated, 8ply) is the best you can get for a 14" wheel. I'm having some put on this weekend.

Check out Southwest Wheel in Dallas (http://www.southwestwheel.com/store/c-39-trailer-wheels-and-tires.aspx). They have a warehouse you can pick up your tires from and just have Walmart mount/balance them for cheap.
