Made a quick run out to Boomvang last weekend on the La Pesca and other than the 10-15 ft waves on the way out - it was a blast. Trolled the whole way out and got a few hits but no hookups. Once we arrived at the rig, we made a few laps before drifting and hooked five yellowfins and a few blackfin, one YFT near the 100# mark. Working the drift was productive the whole time with YFT hitting randomly and BFT hitting jigs regularly. Around 2-3am the bite was on and you couldn't get a jig to the bottom without a hit. I hooked six BFT in a row on glowing jigs. YFT were tearing up flying fish but there weren't many people casting (I left mine at home, doh!) so the crew took care of casting and handing them off to other people. We also hooked a beautiful 6-7ft sandbar shark which I regret not getting a picture of. Boat ended up with ~75 BFT and ~10 YFT, two in the 100# range. Not too shabby for a half full boat on a short trip.
