I fished Granger this past weekend. There was a lot of boats on the water because there was some kind of catfish tournament going on. I cannot find anything about this tournament on the internet. Does anybody know anything about it? I was just curious what the biggest fish was that weighed in.

Local cat fishermen around the Granger area has cat fishing tournaments each year. Most of it is by word of mouth. They like to keep it unknown.

I'd never seen so many untagged/flagged lines before. Fresh lines too, they had just been put there for the weekend.

A lot of people don't follow the rules. This time of year the Game Warden gets over worked at Granger with all the bank fishing, hog hunting and then the boat fishing. Lot of traffic right now. I've seen other counties Game Wardens over helping on some days. I've seen them fill there ticket books and have to go get more. Most of the tickets are no licenses.
Did you do any good this weekend? Looks like I am off the water til June 1.

We did ok. Caught 10 catfish total. 6 Yellows, 3 blues, and 1 small Channel. Two of our bigger yellows went 17 & 13 lbs. We should have done a lot better. We were running throw lines, and I know for a fact, three of our lines were ran by somebody else. The way they were laying could have only been done by a person. We had all our lines tagged and flagged. I guess it comes with the territory, still stinks though.

We try to run our lines every 2 hours. If we notice our lines being run, we will start running them every hour. Lot of times just find a spot and rod and reel then run back down the river checking them. Usually cuts down on our lines being run.
