Duckett 7'3 MH Crankin. It will launch a square bill and still has good feel

I use a 6'10" Powell Inferno Composite. Like the shorter rods for accuracy. +1 on the Powell 6104 CB rod

I'm with this guy, the Dobyns crank bait rods are hands down the best imo.

Powell 705 Endurance is what I use but they don't make that anymore. I'd get a 705 Max 3D. Reasonably priced, light weight, good action, and lots of power.

God Bless This...but I use the 7'10". More universal for chunking the big cranks later on as well.

Even though I'm a G.Loomis fan, I prefer a Powell 725 Endurance for square bills, I throw the smaller SB on G.Loomis JWR 802

I use my 20 year old 6' Garcia Gold Max IM-6. Works great for 1.0, 1.5 and similar smaller H20 Xpress square bills. If I went with bigger baits I would move up to 7' rod but I don't think you have to go out and buy a special rod just for fishing square bill crank baits.
Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!

For me, a sb is a target bait, so I use a rod that gives me the most accuracy--whatever that rod is.

My favorite rod for squarebills is the oldest rod I own. Its an OLD 6"6' medium Berkeley lightning rod. Its my favorite rod for spinnerbaits and swimjigs too. It has just the right amount of tip to do a roll cast and have my lure land Exactly where I want it to. Great for close quarters around cover
