Watched one picking around today right under my fly. I had no idea what I was doing though.

Hey thanks for the replies guys! Robert - anytime your ready for some hardcore gold fishing, you have my number. Banker - she loves to go out in my boat. You ask her if she is ready to go fishing and her tail about flies off - she knows that means we are going out in the boat.

I saw a bunch of carp spawning in shallow water along the shore of CCL today, around 5 lb size I would guess.

Not a bad plan. I've never targeted them before but might have to give it a try.

GUIDE REPORT - Today was interesting! We were completely blown off the water at the Jordan Branch boat launch - saw several boaters drive up and drive off without launching. The wind was screaming at about 9:45, so when our our ride, a friend's East Cape Fury showed up, we were able to talk the captain out of launching. It only seemed practical. He took off, and we decided to head back to an old-school walk-wade spot that I had hit a couple weeks ago. In between weeks, this spot pictured was almost drained dry by the biblical releases at the Ray Roberts Dam. Since then, they shut it in, and this flat flooded again. We were thankful for that! It was also out of all the winds. My guest needed a carp fix - BAD! - and we had this fish on in less than five minutes. The flats in this area are beyond epic right now - and headed into the biblical proportions. Meanwhile, other locations seem to have been nuked, and are completely devoid of carp. Strange days indeed. He broke his rod on the second carp,so we'll never know how many shots were left out there. On our way across the dam, the wind had completely died off (to normal). Just a little warmer, and a little calmer ... and who knows how good it will be?
