We practiced last week and basically found nothing. So we went to the docks and caught a few small keepers but they were real random. At one thirty my partner just threw into some shallow grass and caught a 3 pounder. So we concentrated on that for the last two hours and caught another 3. We got a check but sure wished we had figured out the grass thing earlier.

Pre fished last weekend thought we had a good pattern figured out. With all the rain had our water really muddy, then trolling motor started dying.. Bad battery so we just started flipping docks, out of the wind we caught a lot of fish just most was 12" to 13 1/2" still had fun and got paid.

Stayed home.Let you guys have the lake for the weekend. Pocketed $100 savings from gas and expenses. Now let's hear your patterns so I can put the wife on the fish so she will let me fish.
Don't sweat the small stuff. It's all small stuff.

It was tough, the fish we had found beforehand were not working for us and we only managed 4 for about 8.5lbs. Some other people caught fish in those areas so we just didnt adjust enough to catch them. Like said above, we could only catch short fish off docks.

We had a fun day. Didn't pre-fish at all for the event. We have an area that has treated us well nearly every year so that was the plan. We caught around 17-18 fish but only 4 keepers from those that went 10.88. Just needed another 14" fish and we could have cashed. Oh well, the weather was awesome after some really light rain first thing and we caught enough fish to enjoy the day. Every fish exept one came from flooded alligator weed. We found it water as deep as 4' and some of it was REALLY thick.

This is the first year I have ever been on the lake. Went once in January, caught 2 small keepers and 1 catfish then in 3 days prefishing only caught one keeper and that was 5.5lb so I didn't have a solid plan to go on and my partner didn't prefish at all. It showed on tournament day when we could only manage 4 short fish and 2 sand bass for the day. On to Tawakoni we go!

Couldn't find the time to go practice so we decided to make a $300 + expenses decision and not fish it.
Congrats to those that found them and caught them.
Sounded like it was tough...

We went blind and fished the same spots that always produce for us this time of year, caught a limit in the first 10min, ended up with almost 16lbs lost one about 6 on a spinnerbait. We had a fun day caught around 25 keepers. All fish were caught on spinnerbaits and jigs.

Fished the Budlight trail the weekend before and zeroed. Came into the tournament with no real gameplan so we decided to hit an area that we've caught them in the past. First bite was one of our 7# on a senko. Ran around and picked up a couple more small keepers all on senkos. Around 9:30 we moved into a small pocket with grass. On my partners first cast with a spinnerbait he hooked into our big fish a 7.67 to finish our limit. We moved around and lost another 4# and 5#. Really figured it was going to cost us a good finish but we're still happy to have a descent limit. At 1:30 my partner shelled his lower unit so we were done for the day by the time we limped in. Weighed 19.39 and were just happy with what we had. Still can't believe it held up. We were just blessed. Justin
