Had the same thing happen to me on RayHub a few weeks ago. Bumped a chatter-bait into a tree and set the hook on what I thought was a hammer....... nope, about a 7 lb. blue cat.

Not an expert on Bass fishing, what kind of rig is that? Nice Channel by the way

If it's legal ain't no way in hell it's catch and release, it's CATCH & GREASE, except ROUGH (TRASH) Fish

They must love Carolina Rigged Lizards.

Was fishing on Conroe, looking for a kicker fishing Car-Lizard....boom...drag ripping like crazy (no rolling). 42 pound catfish.

About an hour later, same rig...boom! Drag starts screaming...19.6 pound catfish. Never found a kicker bass. Also, these big cats never rolled and were in surprisingly shallow water.

Its a Texas rig, with a bead and a crappie stopper that lets the Texas rig slide and act like a Carolina rig up to the point of the stopper.

Caught my personal best channel cat while bass fishing a t-rigged worm. I knew it was not a bass the moment I set the hook. The fish just turned a swam like a freight train before I could turn it back, then it was like dragging a log.

May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.

I hooked a big buffalo. It did not jump, but I still thought it was a big bass or cat.

It didn't start rolling until it got closer to the boat, it was a fun fight!

As Jefe said, its a Texas Rig, I rig mine like this until I run out of beads Haha I like to add the bobber stopper above my bullet weight so the weight and the glass bead click together more. I appreciate your support and thank you for the feedback!

Those are some big cats!! Bet the fight was fun, even though you never got your kicker bass.
