Hi- I have this fly rod and I was looking to learn more about it, as I am new to fly fishing. Back Story: Over the summer I was blessed to go on a mission trip to Alaska, and while there we were demolishing an old house, and I found this Fly Rod, and took it home with me. My Youth Minister found in hilarious I got through TSA with it and took it on the plane (he wasn't much of a fisherman), and he died the other month unexpectedly, so in some odd way the rod now means alot to me. Just wanted any info yall might have on it. Neat story.
Can you post a close up of the rods label or tell us what it says?

That is a spinning rod. the first large guide and the reel seat position give it away as a spinning rod..

I have a crazy question,I have got a rather large grass carp in my sights. Been chasing it for 3 weeks, I know it's the same one, got a distinct marking on its side. I've thrown everything, doesn't even look at it even if I put it in front of its nose. What if I take my vise and make a fly out of rye grass on the spot. That's what it's mowing down. I just wanted a opinion.
