Ramps at tower bay will close 4 to 5 feet over. The walkout to dock right now is about foot under because of the floating supports are flipped over and not working. Plus the front entry gate is still locked. When the lake get close to 7 to 8 feet the only thing that will be still open is Little elm ramp. All others will be closed until waters are down with in range.

Also saw Lewisville Fire Dept practicing scuba.

Good morning early yesterday with plenty of magnum sandies and a bunch of hybrid unders. My evening party boat trip trip started with plenty of fish but mostly small sandies. Towards dusk the bigger fish bite started!!!

I have had two trips on Lewisville this past week and both were highly successful with a lot of keeper whites. There are also many under sized hybrids in the 15 to 17 inch range. Please make sure you know what you are putting in your live well (hybrid or sandie).

Today was my best fishing yet on Lewisville. I finally got my fish finder tuned in and was also in the right area. I would go from regular 2D to down scan and it really help me learn what sand bass looked like. I probably caught 50 but only had 6 keepers. They are scattered out right now as Don said. Now I need to figure out how to catch the bigger sandbass and not 10:1. Do I up size my bait? I have a slab on the bottom with a jib or sassy shad above it. Please let me know if I need to just move to another school or do something different. Any help would be appreciated.

Once I got home my son and his friend wanted to go back out so we went back about 7:30. Found the main school of small sandbass so we decided to look around and found a magnum school (for us magnum - not sure what length other people consider magnum sandbass). We kept 14 big ones and released probably twice as many. It was about 2 or 3 smalls to keeper in this school. They didn't sit still like the big school of smaller ones. Learned some important things like prob needing a three way swival for my upper jig because I broke off two doubles. I'm sure there are two pairs of tethered fish out there which was very frustrating so I just used a single slab after that.

In other peoples experience are the sand bass bigger at Ray Bob or is it the same where you have to catch 3 or 4 to get a keeper? I have a lot to learn...

The other area lakes seem to be the same as Lewisville. Lots of small whites and a few larger ones mixed in with them. My boat landed more keeper whites yesterday than the last few weeks. Maybe the big ones are getting active. Ray Roberts does produce some large fish most of the time. Glad you had a good day. The fishing on Lewisville has not been this good in a couple of years. I do believe we have paid our dues and it is paying off.

I have had 2 buddies who told me they had caught 1 or 2 hybrid in Ray Roberts this year. We have been trying to figure that out, since they have never been stocked there. Does Lake Kiowa have hybrids? That's the only way I know of for them to get to Roberts unless someone dumped them in there.

Same with Lavon, have heard of hybrids caught there recently
If it's legal ain't no way in hell it's catch and release, it's CATCH & GREASE, except ROUGH (TRASH) Fish
