I love throwing vibrating jigs. I was using the original Chatterbait for awhile then found Nasty Habit baits Demon vibe. I love these things, but am wanting to try some different brands. I have built some that work great too.
What are your favorite? I'm looking to restock soon.

Anglers Pro Tackle has a "house" bait that is really good.

Phenix Vibrator Version III Hands down, this is my favorite bladed jig. It's virtually the same thing as the Original Z-Man Chatterbait, the only difference is the connection between the head and the blade; the difference being a split ring. These come through grass better and when you reel it fast, it has an erratic reaction. I feel like these are much better quality than the Z-Man Chatterbaits. Phenix has a much better skirt, better head, and a better hook. They have 3 different sizes and plenty of colors to choose from.

Phenix, I haven't tried the new ones with a split ring but my stock of the originals is depleting fast. I have some of the finch nasty's and they built great with a heavy hook but the blade is too thick for me. The action is different than the phenix, not in a bad way necessarily I just have more confidence in the Phenix.

Phenix. But since my supply is dwindling, I'll be trying the Evergreens designed by Brett Hite, when they can catch up with demand. Phenix was Hite's favorite before the whole patent dust-up with Zman.

I have used the Z baits for years, decided to try the new Phenix last year so I bought a bunch of them last summer. I like them a lot, caught good fish on them, but the split rings seem to get 'boogered up' (technical term) easily and either they stop swimming right or i make a cast and come back with a blade but no jig (and a he!!uva backlash). One bait only lasted 3 fish, granted they were all 3 to 5 lbers but still. This spring I fished one a whole morning, caught a bunch of 2lbers, as soon as i caught a good fish it fell apart on me. I hear guys complain all the time about the Z blades coming apart but i haven't ever had that problem, so not sure why my experience is so different.
Do you guys that use the phenix blades upgrade split rings or roll with the stock ones?

I roll with the stock ones, but all mine are originals, not version II or III.

BigBass its also pretty easy to roll your own if you buy the components in bulk. the most critical thing is the blades, make sure you get a blade you like. From there you can get jig heads, skirts, and hardware pretty cheap if you order in quantities of 50 or 100. It takes a few minutes to put one together but all in it is generally < $2 / bait depending on the blade you get.
