Why does it seem most of the pics you see of them they are older white males?

Does the good ole boy system play a major role in who gets picked to be a "marshal" ?

I guess it could be or it could be they have just been on the list longer. LOL I guess their is a few perks of being older and paying dues.

Because most bass fishermen are older, white males

The research is out there. Of all freshwater fishermen in the U.S., more than 60% of those who focus their efforts on bass are 45-64 years of age.

I would think being older comes with a little more flexibility with work schedules and such to be able to devote the time to participate.

Marshals are picked on a first come first serve. The quicker you sign up, the better your chance.

Yes and no.

You have to look at who gets their priority registration.

Registration for lifetime BASS members opens earlier than others but within the group, it's first come, first served.

When I envision a lifetime BASS member I think of someone with a little extra time and a little extra money...... Frequently older, white males. wink

Negative I've never wanted to be an observer, I was just looking at some pics on the BASS website and that's what I saw.

Just a question
