Me and the little lady took a evening trip out to Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth. She landed some pretty decent bass under a Texas Rigged 5' Thick Stick Watermelon Red Ghost. I focused on the whites chasing the shad around by the dam and managed some pretty decent catches with red /w white tail tube jigs under a cork. We shot the breeze with a Kayak bass club that was having a tournament out on these waters. Didn't catch the club name but they was some pretty cool fellas. I also included this picture of this awesome sunset over the lake. Sometimes you just got to look at your surroundings and take in what mother nature has given us. Fish on my amigos.

Its not really a "club" just a Facebook group called DFW Kayak Fishing that holds free working man's tournaments at different lakes/rivers every Thursday but yes they are a good group of guys! Nice catches from the bank by the way!

***UPDATE*** Me and the ole lady popped Marine Creek Lake again this evening. We manages 3 bass a piece for a grand total of 6. Landed a few off 6' Texas Rigged Motor Oil Zoom worms. The bass were lurking in 10 foot of water along a under water ledge. (I only know this because of how frequent I have fished these waters over the years.) We both decided to throw some smaller willow blade spinners as the sun was setting and we each nailed our last fish's of the day. None of our catches were worthy of photo's as not a single one of them topped 1 lb. But regardless we had a blast. Keep the line's in the waters mates and fish on.

With all the rain we've had has anyone seen many snakes around Marine Creek? I bank fish and I may be 6'4" and 300 lbs, but I'm a wuss when it comes to things that slither.

Not at Marine Creek, but saw 2 at Coffee Mill lake and creek last week. Couldn't tell if they were cotton-mouths or not.

Yesterday (5-4-16) saw a few nestled in the rocks on the west dam side. They must be getting good seat's for this weekends water ski show they have going on.

Marine Creek has always had a ton snakes. Most are water snakes that are not afraid of anything including climbing in the boat with you. A few cotton mouth's. Be careful out there, especially from the bank!

Decent evening fish tonight amigos. The bite was slow but still managed to reel in a few LMB and a few Sandies as well. All fish were pretty small. Bass was hook'd on Texas Rigged Motor Oil Worms, and the sandies was pull and dragged off a smaller willow blade spinner bait. On a good note though I met up with one of our forum fellas. Drew was cool shooting the breeze with ya mate. He managed to smoke a few Sandies as well. Hit me up anytime you want to bank it. Keep the lines tight fellas.
