Hope no hail or tornadoes. Stay safe. Lots of crappie waiting to be caught and fried!

That looks nasty! The weatherman here can predict the weather like I can fly a space shuttle.

It was really bad, for about 15 min (at my house), but then just fairly light rain. No hail, thank goodness!!

Storms hit here in the San Antonio area at 3:30am. eeks Picked up a half inch of rain. That with the three quarters of an inch I got Monday along with the three inches of rain I got last week puts it at about 4" in a weeks time. thumb Not to mention the 4" of rain the prior week with major hail damage in the San Antonio area. taz It has been one very wet spring. Also one very wet year starting in last May. nuts

Pintail: One thing is for certain, the weatherman or gal cannot predict the wind speed.

I took a direct hit from some lightning last night. My entire house shook, my wife screamed at the top of her lungs, and I fried some electronics.

They were in a surge protector, but that did not seem to matter. BOOM!

Will be dealing with that later today. I haven't been outside yet, wondering what I'm going to find.

Looks like many others faired far worse than me last night. What a mess.

You're just up the road from me, HOGON. I'm in Lucas. That was some WICKED lightning. My power flickered twice. Unplugging is my plan next time. I could just as easily be in the same boat. Hope it's not too bad.

I was out running when it hit my area last night. Got pretty gnarly. The two females took refuge under someone's porch while I ran to the house to get a car to go back to get them.

Thank GOD each of you are okay. Nice gesture to go back to help those ladies. That unplugging sounds like a great idea.

I have heard simply unplugging may help, but not always. I have heard of stuff being unplugged and the Lightning arced from the wall outlet. I would say the surge protector did the best it could because it only fried some electronics, but not all...so it did the best it could. Probably going to replace the surge protector as well.

I also have been told you should not take a shower during a thunderstorm.
You should not talk on a landline phone during a thunderstorm.
Don't wave a golf club or fishing rod around.

Maybe there are others if anyone cares to add.

I lost some pricey electronics but they can be replaced. Some people lost their houses.

I feel pretty lucky considering.

Being that I have lived in Texas since 1991 and this is the first time that I lost some electronics I would say I'm doing pretty good.

Be Safe!

Lightning rods as easy enough to set up. The old TV antennas needed to be grounded just for this purpose.

I'm on other forums that deal with the old turbo powered Buicks.;)
