You do know that is illegal?

Shut up... Someone actually looking out for a fish shouldn't be attacked online. I have put a couple good slots in well while I got out camera and scale.

I do now. Ill be sure to hold her over the edge in the water next time. thanks

Your intentions were good, any GW on that lake would understand that reasoning. Probably educate you a little afterwards but for some people those are a fish of a lifetime and he did the right thing buy securing them in a live well for the moment, he could have done worse things!

Don't listen to some of these morons. If a game warden sees you put a slot in the livewell. Even for a second. You are getting a ticket.

Unfortunately, this is true. The GW's on Fork aren't bad guys but they have heard, "I was letting the fish recover. I swear I was gonna release her" about a million times.

Great fish though and it was cool your buddy went in to get her unsnagged! Cool video!

Probably not with a young-man, a prick more than likely! I think they pride themselves with education of the youth.

That's just sad TPWD whines about us fishermen breaking all their SALs jaws and miss handling fish then they turn around and take your money for trying to handle a fish correctly. All the game wardens I have come into contact with across the star were stand up guys I can't imagine getting a ticket for that. But I guess I'm wrong in my thinking

Most Gw's are good guys. They also have laws to enforce. How are they supposed to know if you are trying to revive it or take it home to eat? Just trust uou? No one would ever lie to a warden.
